This was a lovely stay in the centre of Amsterdam
The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. Very good communication before we arrived and they were always quick to answer emails. This isn't a Hotel but rather a bed and breakfast style accommodation. The owners live in the apartment block and I believe they have a couple of hotel style rooms. Hans and Wendie are great at advising on what to do and they leave you to get on with your holiday. The room itself was basic but lovely. It had its own bathroom which often pushes the price up in Amsterdam. It had a nice balcony which wasn't exposed to the main street. The room was very clean and the coffee and snack served each morning was a nice touch. The owners love art and this is reflected in the decoration of the room. The location was perfect for us. The room was part of the owners apartment block and very easy to find. Directly outside a tram stop which takes you right into the city centre. We also walked too to show how close it is. The street has lots of restaurants ranging from Mcdonalds just opposite for a cheap breakfast, as well as other fast food places to nicer restaurants for the evening meal. I would recommend this place to anybody wanting a good value room but wanting Hotel quality accommodation. I will definately go back here when I return to The Dam. There are some supermarkets nearby and I would recommend going there for basics as Amsterdam isn't the cheapest place for eating out and drinking. Room Tip: I think there may only be one or two rooms. The room we had was the room from the website but another couple turned up so there must be at least one more room' (neeeeeck) Tripadvisor.com

Great location!

Most attractions reachable by foot. Room clean and hosts very friendly and uncomplicated. No official breakfast served which isn't a problem at all since there are enough restaurants and take-aways nearby.

Adamgoodstay is a great place to stay

Fantastic location as you are on the tram and near the city centre but not in the middle of a load of noise. Leidseplein is only 2 minutes walk. The room is at the back of the house so it's quiet - lovely clean room with your own big bathroom and a small balcony to sit out on. A plus for female visitors is there is a really good hairdryer! Hans & Wendie made us feel very welcome in their home without bothering us all the time which is brilliant. Breakfast was left at our door every morning too. 5 stars!'

This is the best location you can get in Amsterdam

Walking distance from everything. The room is nice and there's a small balcony, with afternoon sun. There's a private bathroom and private entrance so you don't share anything with others. The host is a very nice person, eager to help. I booked for 3 days only but then extended my stay for the weekend as it is really good deal of what you get. Personally recommend.

We stayed at Adamgoodstay Guesthouse in June

We were looking for a central base from which to explore Amsterdam and we were not disappointed. The guesthouse is above a main street but located at the back of the house so it's surprisingly peaceful. Watch out for the narrow winding stairs up though, they will keep you fit but are a bit tricky if you're thinking of taking much luggage. Hans and Wendi were lovely and very helpful but left us to our own devices just as we had hoped. The room with en suite bathroom was lovely, full of character and spotless! We had our own little balcony attached to the bedroom which was really nice in the sun. The bathroom was nicely decorated and the large bath was great for soaking weary limbs after a day of exploring. Wendi leaves supplies for breakfast in the room (fruit, cereal bars and drinks) which suited us well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this little gem to anyone who wants a little more character in their surroundings instead of a bland hotel room.

Very friendly hosts, open for contact and willing to help

The room is rather basic, but the location is quite good.

Good location and easy to get to

A basic bedroom with a balcony and ensuite bathroom, clean and comfortable, but cold in the winter (we went early december). The owners were friendly and helpful, I would recommend it to our friends.

Beautiful room, great location and extremely clean!

Loved having my own balcony. There is a little bit of street noise and you can hear the tram from time to time but I would highly recommend staying here.

Firstly, the apartment is in a fabulous location with all possible shops within a stones throw

We found an excellent bakery just over the road and a fabulous bar about 400 yds away. Amsterdam is easy to navigate your way around and has just about every type of shop and museum imaginable. Wendie and Hans made us feel very much at home and were on hand if we needed any advice or directions (although they left us alone unless we needed them). The stairs up to the apartment were quite steep and somewhat of a challenge to someone such as myself with large feet! Other than that, the apartment was clean and tidy and perfect for our short stay in Amsterdam. We will be back soon.

Adamgoodstay guesthouse is a perfect place for your trip in Amsterdam

Everything was perfect: the room was very clean and arranged very stylish, the breakfast was healthy and tasted wonderful and Hans - the hire- was very chearful and always ready to help. After three days we noticed that the guesthouse is placed in one of the best places in whole Amsterdam, many bars and shops; very close to many sights on foot. For our next trip to Amsterdam we will book again.
Thanks for everything!

Stay at Adamgoodstay it's the best!

We reiterate everything already said about Adamgoodstay. It's the perfect hideaway when all is rainy in Amsterdam. We loved the room, so much nicer than an impersonal hotel, very cosy and homely. Hans and Wendie were the perfect hosts, giving us breakfast as promised and being there if we needed them, they let us get on with our break. I can't fault this place, it's the 4th time i've stayed in this area and i will never stay anywhere else now. Perfect! Thank you verymuch!

My girlfriend and I really had an amazing time. Hans and Wendie were friendly enough, but just let us get on with our trip. Great location. Very clean and tidy, would definitely come back!

If you're in Amsterdam, stay here

By Eric,
My wife and I recently stayed here for 3 days and we cannot highly recommend it enough. The room was cozy, but not cramped by any means. There was a small balcony and a good sized bathroom. The stairs were very steep and narrow, but of course, that's to be expected in Amsterdam. Wendie served us a nice, small breakfast to get us started in the morning (generally, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, a pastry and fruit). The guestroom is in a great location as it's right in the middle of the Leidseplein area, so plenty of things to do (albeit a bit touristy). It's also very easy to get anywhere you want in the city since it's right on the 1, 2, 5 tram stop and any part of the city centre is at most, a 30 minute walk. When we were searching for places to stay in Amsterdam, we wanted our own room/bathroom (so most hostels were out) and most hotels were very expensive (or were much further out). Adamgoodstay was a perfect mix of affordability, location, and a personal connection to the city (incidentally, Hans is a wealth of information about Amsterdam, so definitely solicit recommendations if needed). The next time we come to Amsterdam, we will most certainly be staying with Hans and Wendie.

Excellent place to tuck youself away

It's right on the main shopping street, so an ideal place to give you access to all of the city. It was a shame that you couldn't cycle down Leiderstraat, but there were places to lock the bikes by the canal nearby. It's good being at the back of the house as there was quite a bit of noise on the street at night, which you can't hear in the room. The room and bathroom were really clean and really nicely decorated, the couple that own the house used to have it as an art gallery, so it's very stylish. They were really friendly, gave us a bit of advice about nice places to see, but on the whole, leave you to get on with it. There are a lot of stairs and they are very steep, but this is the case with nearly all places in Amsterdam. There was no curfew, so long as you didn't come shouting and crashing up the stairs, you have the keys and you can come and go as you please. A really great place to stay.

A great experience, never being in a guesthouse before

We once discovered this Europeanhostel editor Review

Adamgoodstay Guesthouse has a homey feel (it's a guesthouse), and an ideal location between Leidseplein and Kerkstraat (Southern Canal). Its location in the middle of Amsterdam will allow you to hit up endless restaurants, theaters, and museums. The Guesthouse is a truly relaxing and smaller hideaway. It might as well be called the Adamchillstay.
